Apple Pie Oats

A delicious and warm way to start your day!

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 113 grams oats (jumbo or rolled)
  • maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp applesauce
  • 240 ml non-dairy milk (almond, oat etc)
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp corn flour

Instructions

  • Chop your apple into small pieces.
  • For the apple topping:- In a saucepan add your apple, water, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, cornflour, 1 tsp vanilla essence, maple syrup and stir often until the apple softens and the sauce thickens (Over a medium heat).
  • Put apple topping to the side. In another saucepan (on a medium heat), add your oats, non-dairy milk, apple sauce, chia seeds, salt, 1 tbsp maple syrup and the rest of your cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla essence. 
  • Stir often until oats are cooked through, place your oats in a bowl, add your apple topping and enjoy!
